Angela Long

Founder & CEO

Angela is a clean energy and resilience leader with nearly 20 years of experience advancing distributed energy resources, grid modernization, and equity-centered energy planning across utilities, government, and consulting. She is the Founder and CEO of Rockcress Consulting, where she leads resilience planning, DER strategy, and stakeholder-driven program design for utilities, states, and communities nationwide. Angela has led and advised major initiatives including countywide energy resilience planning, virtual power plant and battery storage pilots, and long-term grid and DER planning for utilities and regional power planners. She also serves in national advisory roles shaping DER valuation, VPP policy, and benefit-cost analysis to strengthen grid reliability, resilience, and equitable outcomes. 

Prior to Rockcress, she served as Senior Manager of Strategy & Planning at Portland General Electric, where she led distribution system planning, distributed resource planning, and energy equity initiatives. She previously managed DER strategy across six states at PacifiCorp and led energy efficiency program delivery at CLEAResult and DNV GL. 


Ryan Long

Principal

Ryan is Principal at Rockcress Consulting with more than 12 years of experience in data analytics, research management, and operational performance across climate, environmental, and clean energy initiatives. Ryan is co-authored key VPP research at Rockcress in partnership with Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) on the "Virtual Power Plant Profiles and Inventory" technical report.

In his current role and previously at Cascade Energy and CLEAResult, he has led research projects and analytics efforts, developing and managing more than 40 Power BI dashboards that integrate data from Excel, SharePoint, and Salesforce to strengthen KPI visibility, program delivery, and leadership decision-making.

His career also includes hands-on conservation work with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and The Nature Conservancy, enabling him to pair rigorous technical analysis with on-the-ground environmental experience to deliver practical, data-driven solutions that support long-term goals.


Tatjana Beck

Data & GIS Specialist

Tatjana is a data specialist at Rockcress Consulting with interdisciplinary expertise in spatial analysis, data interpretation, and ecological research. In her role, she leads mapping initiatives to support countywide energy resilience planning under Oregon's House Bill 3630, and analyzes & integrates datasets for sustainable energy solutions. Her technical skills include RStudio statistical analysis, ArcGIS mapping and visualization, and large dataset integration. Tatjana's background in conservation science, academic research, and NOAA-funded public-facing science communication enables her to use complex data to highlight patterns and trends.
